Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

Please Pray...

I missed posting something yesterday. My brain was just tired... and my body was even more tired than my brain. Things are going strange at work... well not really strange... just 'stupid'. The workload is getting larger... and the management expects the people who are there... (who are already short handed)... to do even more... and oh... by the way... we have to cut our hours by 2 hours per week. It isn't so bad to do that for a little while. The more you do... the more they expect... then they expect even more. Burn out and frustration is thick... and there is not enough time in the day anymore. I guess that is everywhere... but man it is frustrating!

Ok... enough complaining... I am truly thankful for my job and the abilities that I have to do it. Sometimes it just feels good to vent.

I need prayer for something. Our financial situation is going to be having the opportunity for a possible change. We have been so worried about how we are going to make it after Hannah turns 18. We will lose part of Rich's social security then. I believe that God brings people into our lives for reasons. The social worker at Rich's heart transplant routine office visit was telling us of a gentleman who has also received a transplant that knows how to apply for things through the Veterans Administration. The social worker thought of us when he was telling her about this. Apparently, someone who has been determined to be permanently disabled with the federal government (and is a veteran), could possibly be eligible for something called 'disability due to non-employability' with the veterans administration. We know nothing about this really. Rich has talked with the gentleman... and we will be going to the VA on May 12, 2005 to apply for this. Rich's income would be doubled... and we would have more of an opportunity to get back on our feet faster. We have really had a difficult time of it since moving back to Washington. I am very thankful that it has not been worse. The Lord has always provided for us. We always seem to have just enough money for gas... just enough of some sort of food... just enough. I thank God for that too. He has blessed us with so much. This possibility through the VA only came about by 'word of mouth'... and if it is God's plan for us... then this would truly be a wonderful blessing to our household. It has been hard for me to keep from worrying about making ends meet. I have taken on the burden... so-to-speak... of financial stress. I hold a big part of the financial responsibility to make sure I keep my jobs that I have had... and to make sure I can get full time where I work. The Lord has blessed me with a full time job... making an ok wage... ever since Rich has become disabled. I thank him for that with all that I am. Please pray that if this opportunity is God's will... that it will happen perfectly. God knows the timing of things that happen in our lives. He knows when things are best... or when they are best left alone. He sees our future... and he provides for his children abundantly! We are truly loved when God has his way in our lives. I could never do, or provide, what he has given us all by myself. So I just let God take care of the details. He knows what is best. Pray for the whole situation to work out as God has intended it to be. Thursday May 12, 2005.

Tomorrow morning for me is about 4 hours away. I need to get myself to bed.

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10")

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
