Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

Rain Rain... Don't Go Away... Stick Around Until Friday!

All of my life I can remember hating being hot. Being born in southern California did not help that at all either. My upper lip always had beads of sweat on it... I remember always wiping it away with the sleeve of my shirt. I remember my mama always telling me that she wouldn't fix me warm milk bottles... they were always coolish. She said that when I had a warm one... the sweat would just pour off of me and by the time she was done feeding me the bottle I would have her all sweaty too. I am the same today as I was when I was little. I get so cranky when I get hot. I hate hot weather. I hate high temperatures. I hate a hot woodstove in the winter. Rich always puts that shrink plastic stuff on our windows in the winter. He knows if he wants to live... he better leave me one main window that can be opened during the winter. My favorite temperature is 65 degrees F. 70 if there is a nice cool breeze. You're pushing the limits as it creeps up towards 75.... and 80? NO WAY! Anything above 72.5 degrees is way too much for me! This past week has only given me a small teeny weeny sample of the summer we are yet to have. I know it will be much worse. One day this week it got up to 93 degrees F. (((YUCK!!!))) I was miserable.... cranky.... mean.... miserable... cranky..... oh... did I mention I was cranky? Today at work was my friday. I so terribly wanted cooler weather for my two days off. So this morning while I was getting dressed in my dark house... I prayed to God. "Please let it rain today... and on my days off. Please bring some clouds and some wind... nice and cool... please please please. In Jesus name... Amen." Well...... as I was driving across the valley to get to work this morning at 3:53 a.m., I noticed over the mountains in the east... darkened edges of cloudwork... brushed with streaks of white pulsating flashes of light... and I said..."YES! Thank you Lord!!!" Well... we had a little rain... a little wind... alot of clouds... and one very happy Suzii! Personally... I hope it does this for the rest of the week. We have to go to Spokane on Thursday... (in the little red sardine can)... and I would like for it to be cool and breezy and a little rainy if it so chooses! I hope this does not put a damper on anyone else... and I hope no picnics were cancelled on my account... but it cannot be sunny forever! So was this a fluke of nature? Or my prayer being answered? I like this verse in the bible very much... (I have it highlighted in pink!)... Zechariah 10:1 "Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men, and plants of the field to everyone." The best time for napping, or sleeping in general, is when it is raining. I love the "smell of the rain"... (I know ya know what I am talking about). I think perhaps I may have enjoyed the voyage of Noah... (minus a few gozillian animals)... but the animals were vital to Noah honoring the request of God himself! ((I can't even handle our doggy on roadtrips to town... which is only 6 miles one way!)) High five for Noah!! So... to make a long story short... I love today! ((please let it rain for two more days...please please please)). ***psssst... it's raining really hard again and the clouds are covering my house!!! hehehehehehehe...I LOVE IT!!! It's raining so hard it will beat the hair off a toad!

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10")

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
