Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

The Wheels On The Bus ((CAR)) Go Round And Round...

As I look back on all that I have been through in my life... my current problem is put into proper perspective. I have been through my parents divorce battle, foster homes, my mother's mental difficulties, my mother's death, my husband's heart disease - mechanical heart pump - and heart transplant... soon followed by an emergency surgery for a complication from the other two surgeries ...(all while I am experiencing severe nose bleeds that won't stop), and many other trials, tragedies, and triumphs... so what is the big deal now?

Well........ we were headed into town Friday around 6:00pm-ish. We heard a "pop"... and it sounded like we had a flat tire. Rich got out and looked... and the tire was fine... and at that time he did not notice anything else. We continued down several blocks more to a stop sign right before getting on the highway that runs through town. I started to take off... got halfway into the lane of traffic... and heard a louder "POP!" and then crash!!

The car... was no longer going anywhere. We got out of our car... and the front right side of the car was sitting on the ground. The right front fender was slightly lifted and rested on top of the tire and was slightly not in the correct position it should be in. And the tire... well... it was just sitting there.. under the fender... not attached to ANYTHING!

((Keep in mind this whole time... the traffic has to go around the front end of our car in the turn lane))... ((Oh... and we had the dog with us!))... ((Oh... and both front doors of our car need to be opened with a curtain rod because the handles on the outside are broken))... so here we sit. Emergency flashers on.... dog whining in the front seat stickin' his head out the window... and people stopping and LOOKING and doing that drive by slow and see what we can see stare.

Rich got out and jacked up the front of the car... and the tire just fell to the ground. Usually... on a NORMAL car.... that is running properly... the tires are attached to the car by lug nuts that are screwed onto these bolt type thingys... RIGHT? Well... only two of our lug nuts were to be found out of five. The two lug nuts were about 5 feet away from the car laying in the road. And the bolts that the tire was supposed to be on........... well...... we had NONE! That's right... not a single bolt to be found. They had sheared off... clean as a whistle! All five of them!

So now we have to go do the insurance thingy... and the "get an estimate" thingy... and I pray we can have a loaner car while it is being fixed. It is really horrible being without a car. Especially when you only have one car. It is amazing how much we rely on things sometimes. I have been blessed with co-workers who have been willing to come and get me and take me back home the past couple of days.

Even though I am extremely stressed out right now because of all of it... and being tired... and on top of that not feeling well...................I am VERY thankful that the car decided to throw a fit basically at a stop sign. A couple weeks ago... we were fishing on the top of a very huge mountain with steep winding mountain roads. I thank God we were not coming down that road when the tire decided to just fall off. There are reasons why things happen the way they do... and I am glad to have God take care of things like that for me.

Take time to be thankful for the tiniest of delays. Be thankful for your glass half full. Be thankful for the little bit of money put toward that huge bill. Be thankful for the life you have... and the ability to breathe the air God allows the birds to fly in. Be thankful for your job even though you would quit if you won the lottery. Be thankful... for everything. Mostly.... Be blessed. Every tragedy... or time of suffering... brings blessings. You may not see them at the time... but take the time so you can actually see them.

...And Thank God for car insurance, without which, (even though it annoys us at times) we would be up a creek without a paddle...or in your case, up a street without a wheel... Love ya.

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10")

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
