Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

I Will Keep Praying and Believing...

Well... I have been released back to work. Tomorrow I go back for 8 hours... just as an extra shift... to see how it goes. I was up walking around today more than I have been all week long. My ankle hurt a little bit... but was bearable. My doctor told me that I had inflammatory arthritis. He told me that there will probably be times that it just flares up and gets very painful. WELL... I love my doctor. He has been my doctor for about 18 years now. I know that he knows what he is talking about. He wrote me a prescription and signed my release back to work and told me that if going back full time was a problem... to let him know. Even though I think the world of him... I want the kind of healing that Jesus gave to that woman instantly when she touched the hem of his garment. I want THAT kind of prescription! I have a lot of years to live yet... I am 36 years old... I do NOT want to live with inflammatory arthritis for the next 50 or 60 (or more) years! I don't want to live with it for another day!! I wish I could just touch Jesus' hand... and have everything that is wrong in my body be fixed. Can you imagine how wonderful of a feeling that would be?.. INSTANTLY! I almost start to cry when I think about how wonderful our God is. I get frustrated when I believe things so strongly and nothing happens. Why is it that we can pray for things... ask for things... and believe whole heartedly that God will "fix" things... stand on the word of God in our beliefs......... and have doubt fill our minds when things don't change? I know that we shouldn't allow doubt in our lives. But seriously... when we pray and pray... AND PRAY... and pour our hearts into believing... and nothing happens.........what are we supposed to do with that?? It's like you just want to say... "But God... what am I doing wrong?" I believe that God wants an overflow of health and prosperity for those who believe in him and love him... so that we can be a blessing to others. We are his children. He wants our lives to be good. I believe that He wants us to receive all that he has for us. Are we doing something wrong in the receiving department? Are we praying wrong? I don't have all of the answers to these questions. I do still have an amount of love and trust and belief in God that is more than my whole entire life. He is the breath of my life. I will continue to pray and hope and believe that things can be a glimmer of what heaven is... here on earth.

Jeremiah 33:6 "Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security."

What wonderful news that you can go back to work!

We are the same age...I know I wouldn't want to live with inflammatory arthritis the rest of my life either.

Regarding the praying and praying and nothing happening and doubt taking over...well, that is satan. He is trying to say "See, you prayed to God and He didn't answer. What kind of God is that?" or something similar. He will do/say anything to get us to turn from God...which is what he tries to do by helping us to doubt that our prayers are heard or answered.

Sometimes the prayers aren't answered right away because God wants us to totally trust Him, totally depend on Him, and let it happen in His time. Sometimes He will test us to see if we are faithful and will continue praying and trusting Him in the situation...that whole perseverence thing I think.

It can be hard waiting on Him, but well worth it in the end. I know for me the hardest part is the waiting and I do get impatient at times. God has a perfect time for things to happen, we just have to be willing to trust Him and wait...

I like to joke that "if I was meant to have patience I'd have been a doctor"....lol

Shelley...

You are right on target with everything that I am hearing. I feel like such a tiny little baby christian sometimes. I have loved God all my life... yet there is so much about him... that I really don't know yet! It is so exciting when you "hear" the things you need to hear. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10")

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
