Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

Back To Work... With A Little Surprise!

I went back to work... again... today. It was ok... kinda rough through some parts of the day... but I made it. Everyone was really happy to see me... and was excitedly filling me in on all the *stuff* that happened while I was away. I guess they wanted to keep me in the thick of things. (I wasn't really surprised by any of it... I kinda thought..."That figures!") Things never change... really... some people are extremely predictable.

I was in the middle of decorating some cakes for orders... and once again I was blessed by two little faces peeping up over the top of the cake case. Little voices that I knew saying, "Hi Suzii!!!" followed by giggles. I turned around to see two angelic little grinning faces that I knew very well. One of the little faces... always takes me back to my childhood days... growing up with my best friend... (my cousin, Denise, http://pharoahstreasure.blogspot.com ). Then I hear the ever known-to-my-heart voice of my Uncle Wallace (Denise's dad)... making sure that Jess and Georgia had given me a hug. Jess is Denise's middle son, and Georgia is her youngest... and is the spitting image of Denise when she was that little. An exact copy of my childhood playmate. Jess and Georgia both gave me great big squishy hugs. The first thing Jess asked was... "Can I have a taste of some icing?" Then Georgia... jumping up and down..."Me too! Me too! Me too!" I told them they better ask their Grandpa (cuz I knew he would be the one to have to chase after them for the rest of the day). =o) poor Grandpa! I went around the other side of the counter and got two little tiny taster spoons and filled one with brilliant blue icing and the other with brilliant pink icing. Once returned to the two anxious little "gimme icing" faces... Jess' lips and tongue turned blue... and Georgia's was bright pink (of course Georgie squished her lips together and made it look like lipstick!) Then of course... Jess... being Jess... said, "Can I have some more?" Grinning with blue teeth that he was proud to show off. ((They didn't get anymore... cuz Grandpa said so)) I asked them if they were having fun with Grandpa... and their responses were "Yes" (both at the same time telling me what Grandpa had just bought them at Wal*Mart) ((so I don't really know what they got... but I did see some school clothes and new shoes in the basket)) They both told me that they got to talk to their Mama last night. I asked them if they enjoyed that. Jess said, "Yes, I love talking to her." Georgia said, "I cried." She kind of just looked up at me... and I searched for the right words to tell her. I know that Denise's children miss her with all their hearts... as I know Denise missed them just as much... or more. I told Georgia, "I think I would have cried too. You miss your mama. You wouldn't be normal if you didn't cry. I miss my mom... and sometimes I cry too." She looked up at me again... and smiled. So... my words may have been just that... words... but I felt so connected to her little soul when she smiled at me with those gorgeous eyes of hers. We spent a few more moments in chit-chat mode... and they gave me another hug...each one... Jess' hug was a "I'm a boy... but I'll hug ya quick" hug... and Georgia just hugs ya like she never wants to let you go. Off they went.... with Grandpa following to try to keep up with them. (He's very fit... but those kids are fast!!)

I wanted to share this... because I knew my cousin (more like sister) Denise would read it... and I wanted to share a special hug from her kids with her. =o) If I had a picture of her kids... I would post it. Perhaps Denise has one??

Name: ~Suzii~

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10")

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
