Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

Goodness Comes In Many Small Things...

I cannot begin to describe the feelings I have been having lately. I visited with my friend, Thelma, the other night on the phone. We decided to write down every positive thing that happens... so that we can see the good changes that are happening in our lives. I have not been so faithful as to write them down every day... but I think about them constantly.

When our minds get all caught up in the garbage of life... we end up feeling as though we are in the dump... literally. Everything stinks... everything is gross... and we trudge through every day like we are rotting away for the buzzards to pick at us.

Well... just the fact that we decided to pay closer attention to the good things that happen... has really changed me the past few days. I think the word that Thelma thought was just for her... was for me also. It really is good to simplify things in our lives.

In the past couple of days... I have only needed to take half of the amount of pain medications and such... as I had been. I have made an effort to pay very close attention to what my body is telling me. I know that taking less medications may seem trivial... but... for me... it is HUGE! I am counting it as a blessing that I am in the process of recieving a complete healing! AMEN!

I have also been able to move around in bed during my sleep. That may sound silly to some of you... but for the past several very long and exhausting months of complete and excrutiating pain... to move around in bed was NOT an option! I was lucky... for so long... to even get out of bed without assistance. I have been sleeping so much better. That may seem small... but when you are totally emotionally, physically, and spiritually drained of life itself... it is actually a very big thing.

I can get up off of the couch... by myself. Small? No! The simplest things in life that most people take for granted... were almost impossible for me to do for such a long time.

During all this time... I still managed to work in a fast paced job... full time. There were times I could have crawled out the door after the day was done... but I never cried until I got to my car. God is so good... and so awesomely faithful to us!

There are so many small little things... every day... that bring a new goodness to my life. It is a newness. Slow at coming... but it is still on it's way. I cannot see it in it's completeness yet... YET! I am holding on to the little bit of faith that I have that God's perfect will for my life... is on it's way... and my trials and sufferings will be a testimony of God's love and compassion.

Even when your faith is small... goodness can come of it. There have been days in my recent past that I have felt like I could have enough faith left to use as an eyelid for a flea. But the bible says..."...I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."~Matthew 17:20

As I look back on those times... I can see that I have actually been able to come through what I thought at the time... was going to be impossible to get through. I have been there many times in my past... and I can see now that the Lord was with me... and when I could not walk with my own feet... He used His.

Be blessed.

Suzii, all those "small" accomplishments that you have made add up to lots! It is so good to hear that your back is better, that you can move around and get up better, etc. Those things are not small, no they are HUGE accomplishments!

Happy New Year to you and your family!!

Great testimony!

His faith is perfect, when our faith is small.

Isn't that good to know?

Bonnie: What a cool idea!

Suze: God's love for us is so amazing that he cries for us when we can't cry and he laughs for us when we can't laugh. When we are down, he pulls us up by the boot straps and holds us up with a big hug. I love you!

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10")

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
