Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is the day that we "officially" set aside to give thanks for all of the blessings in our lives. I give thanks on a daily basis. I am very grateful for all that I have been given in life. Even in the midst of hardship and uncertainty... I am thankful.

I hope for many blessings to everyone on this day.

I am asking for some prayer for guidance for my family and I. It seems we will be traveling down a road not yet taken in our lives. I take that back... we have travelled down it... but only for "vacational purposes"!!

What in the world am I talking about? Well... let me tell you. My husband, daughter and I have decided to move to Ohio. Take heart that I have lived on the West coast all of my life. My husband was born and raised in Ohio... until we were married. There have been many paths we have been down in our marriage... none... as of yet have taken us "back home" to his family. Rich gave up 20 years of being around his family... because he knew how much my family meant to me. Not that his were any less important... They are VERY MUCH loved!! My mother is in heaven now... and my brothers are scattered to far ends of the earth. My dad and his wife live on the other side of the state that we live in now... but we haven't lived close to each other for many years now. The point is... Rich is over 5 years out from his heart transplant. There is no guarantee how long heart transplants last... and for that matter... no one knows how long their life will be... in can be gone in the blink of an eye.

So... before to many more blinks go by... we are going to move to Ohio and spend some time with his mother, grandmother, brothers and the whole massive group of family members that are all basically in the same place they were born in... "BACK HOME".

If something happened to Rich before he got the chance to go back home... I would never be able to forgive myself.

We aren't exactly sure of the time we are going... but it looks like right around the first of the new year or so. Only God knows the exact day... (and I sure wish he would give us a clue!)

I am asking for prayer. Prayer to see the open door when it is opened for us. Prayer for the "right" time... God's time. Prayer for safety... and knowledge and good finances to make the move. Prayer for energy and strength to make it all the way back there in one piece. Prayer for health to be able to enjoy our time on the road... as well as our time with his family.

I know it is going to happen. It is the right thing. I feel it in my heart of hearts... and so does Rich and Hannah.

Be blessed this Thanksgiving holiday... but also... be a blessing!

The "Daily Blessing" that popped up on my blog on the day I published this post was the following:

Thursday November 23, 2006
Today's Promise: And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
Isaiah 58:11 / KJV

God is SO Good!

Heya Sissy,

I can't think of a better thing than being surrounded by people who care. And personally, I couldn't imagine living in Colville after Mom died. I can only hope and pray that your upcoming move goes smoothly and safely.

Tell Rich hello, and Hannah, and that I love you all.

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10")

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
