Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

"Been Gone Awhile"

Seems as though I have been away for a bit.  Work has been one terrible nasty place... that has been pleasantly lighthearted and fun all at the same time.  Being short handed by six people... some might jump ship... or whine and complain... or become tyrants.  In our case... it has been a blessing that somehow... those of us who are left behind in the trenches of Riesbeck's bakery... somehow... we have pulled together.  Yeah... okay... I admit it... we have all done our fair share of whining... but it has been short lived as there is not enough time to finish whatever it was you were whining about!  Several of us have had to work six day weeks... just to barely scratch the surface of what actually needs to be done... but somehow... we have managed to keep our heads above water.

As for any signs of life in actually getting something written anywhere?  Well... I think the sign hanging on my door would say... "Been Gone Awhile... Be Back When I Find My Marbles!"  Speaking of finding my marbles... I lost a marble cake today.  Could have sworn I cut it out for an order.  The order was due in about 30 minutes... and I was in my own little zone trying to find that marble cake.  In the back of my hearing... I heard someone in the bakery ask another person... "What is Suzii looking for?"  and their reply was.... "She is looking for her marble!"

Apparently... I had lost the last marble that I had!  (I never did find it... I had to get another one... now nothing will ever be the same again! ha ha!)

I guess in times of frantic crisis... you can either choose to cut the cake... or you can drown somewhere in the bottom of a bottomless mixing bowl of icing.  I choose to not only cut the cake of life... but I choose to do it with the determination that no one leaves without having a piece of cake!

Who am I?  By profession, I am a cake decorator... my passion, is a writer... I am also a wife... a mother... a sister... but most greatly in my hat that I wear... I am a child of God!  No matter what happens to all of the other things that I am... I will always belong to God.  What a fantastic feeling!

I have been taught values about what it means to be one of God's kids.  I try to share those values with others by the way I do things.  I want them to see the light in my heart.  I want them to look past what they see on the outside of me... and see God living in me... whether it be in the quality of work I do.. or the simplest of smiles on my face.  People know when there is "something different" about you.  When you are filled with all things good from God... people notice... and you don't even have to say a word!

I am not bragging on myself here... but... I have had alot of compliments... more so now than ever.  I have also been complimented by my assistant manager at work as to how well I have kept the "cake area" afloat during our shorthandedness at work.  I have God to thank for that too.  When I work... I make every cake as if it were going to be set on the King's table.  People notice.  When I mop the floor after I am done... I do it as if Jesus himself were going to walk on it.  People notice.  When I greet a customer... I greet them as if they were my best of all best friends... no matter what kind of mood I am in.  People notice.  They notice the way you answer the phone... they notice the way you walk to the time clock at the end of a long day.  They notice EVERYTHING!  People are itchin' to say something about someone... I say... let's us... as Christians give them something good to talk about!

It will make a difference in how you feel at the end of a frantic day... to just rely on God... and most of all... tell Him thank you for what you have... even when it doesn't feel like you are being blessed... because more than likely... you are being blessed whether you realize it or not!

Name: ~Suzii~
Location: Elm Grove, West Virginia, United States

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10")

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
