Lady Of Grace

...A Work In Progress...

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." JOHN 8:12

FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH - AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD - NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST. FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO." EPHESIANS 2:8-10

Still Online... So Far!

I have the next two days off. I want so much to be able to put into words some things that I need to get out of my heart.

We will be spending tomorrow in Spokane all day. Rich has two appointments for his "annual"... (yearly heart transplant tests to see how his new heart is doing). Most of his tests were done when he was in the hospital a while back for his abdominal surgery... so thank God we won't have to go through ALL of them.

I will be meditating on things of God... and my "heart stuff" that needs to get out. I hope that I can collect all of the thoughts that are floating around in my mind... and pour them out into some sort of inspiring moment that I can share with you.

I think God is ready to transplant my own heart. Not a physical transplant... but a spiritual one. He is really stirring things up in my soul. I just need the time to be with Him... And pray. There is a much needed "quietness" that I am longing for... just the Lord and I.

Along with spending time with God... I need to spend some quality time with my family. It has been a long, hard two weeks that I just went through at work. Yes, praise the Lord! I made it through... my ankle, my Lord, and I.

So... I will be back... as long as I am able to remain online!

Newness...

I have put a little bit of personality to my blog. I enjoyed myself! It took me 5 plus hours to find pictures that I liked... and try to make the "html" stuff work right. My husband even liked it! I always ask him... "Do you ever read my posts?" His reply is... "Do they have pictures?" So... to appease my hubby a little bit... I added some really cool pictures. Kind of dusted the cobwebs off the walls of my blog. Splashed some color here and there.

Now, my daughter, wants me to add some things to her site as well. I showed her mine and she is like... "That's cool mom... when are you gonna add those two pictures to mine that I have wanted you to add for a long time now?" So, I guess I need to play around with her blog for a while. I wish I had a weekend day off once in a while... then we could do it together... kind of an all day "mother and daughter" thing that she has been buggin' me about. I suppose I will have to take her up to the bus stop tomorrow... (she is presently buggin' me about that right now!)

I have had a new... (this is my favorite phrase that I made up a few years ago)... "phathomystic openage" with my writing lately. "Phathomystic openage" means where once there was no knowledge of some certain thing in your brain... then... like a big phathomystic openage opens up in your head... and you all of a sudden "get it!" **If you understand what I just described to you... you had a phathomystic openage!**

Before when I would write about the things that were to go into my book... they didn't link up right. They didn't flow. I have notebooks upon notebooks filled with sections of things. Then... all of a sudden... about a week ago or so... I had these wonderful "God things" happen in my brain. It is like I am very aware about every thought in my "file cabinet"... **file cabinet being the places in my mind where I sort and store all of the information and stuff that I will be writing about**

I was beginning to think that my file cabinet was locked. I know that God wants me to write this book. He told me so. He even told me what it was going to be about. I know that I have talked about this before. Imagine... being virtually a nobody... (well... I always have been somebody in God's eyes)... but you know what I mean? Like... "Why me, God? What makes me so special that I should write you this book?" Alot goes on in your mind when God tells you what you are GOING to do. I almost used to start to panic. Like...."Oh no... I am going to forget something!" Or... "I won't know what it is I am supposed to know!" Or... "God... WHY ME!" ((Oh... I already said that!)) You know what I mean?

A while back I read a book. (Yes! I can read!) I read "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkenson. ((It is an awesome book by the way...)) After I read the book... I knew I needed to give my dream of writing this book for God... back to God. (If you read the book... you will understand more fully what I am talking about).... (Read the book!!) Anyway... I prayed about it... and... in prayer... I ended up giving my dream of writing that book for God back to him.

At first I felt extreme relief. Like... "It's in your hands now God. I cannot mess it up." Then... I started blogging. I needed a place to keep writing SOMETHING... ANYTHING. Then... after a while... I started to feel like God was leaving me out of my dream. I started the panic mode again. I would pray and ask God... "Was that dream really mine? Or was I just imagining it?" Then... I felt like..."God... can I have it back yet?????? Can I? Can I? PLEASE?" Then... I just waited. I knew that if that dream that I was given was truly from God... in HIS time... It would be given back to me to finish.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:8-11

So... that is where I am at. Gently and ever so confidently... God is giving me back my dream. In a whole new way I am seeing what it is he wants me to write about. It all has a new depth... a new "phathomystic openage". It is amazing the feelings that I have... knowing.... KNOWING... that the dream WAS actually to be mine. The feelings I have of God being with me every minute of every day. My mind sorts differently... it organizes differently... and the words flow differently. Jesus truly does push my pen.

I hope that each and every one of you have the opportunity to do something wonderful for Jesus! He gave his very life on the cross for us. What is it that God has been asking you to do for Him? What in your life... will honor Him. When you get to heaven... will you have done all that you were intended to do? I pray every day for blessings in the lives of those I encounter. I seem to pray constantly in my mind... and I feel constantly Jesus by my side. I pray that you all have a great big "phathomystic openage" and God is in it!

Many blessings to you all.

You Probably Won't See Anything Quite As Sweet As This...

What Would You Do?

I think that if I saw Jesus...
far off in the distance...
I would be able to run faster
than I have ever ran before in my life!
I would not fall at his feet in exhaustion...
I would fall at his feet in worship!
I would cry tears of joy to be able to touch His hand.
To be in His very presence would make my heart soar.
My life on earth would be complete.
I would be so excited to hear about heaven.
What an amazing day that will be to see Him
coming back to take us home with Him!
I honestly cannot wait!

Just Thought I Would "Login"...

I have missed writing here on my blog. I have been busy working FULL TIME! Praise God! I have managed to get well enough to get back to work! I have taken more to picking up my pen and notebook lately rather than sitting at the computer. I miss blogging though. I miss sharing with others.

There was a reason that I needed to stop blogging as much as I was. I was allowing my blog to become my obsession...

...rather than focusing my eyes toward what God has intended my writing to be used for. Getting closer to God and getting more "into" His word was what I was needing.

I realize that blogging is a really great way to share with others who God is. It is also an awesome way to just "let it all go"... so to speak...

BUT...

The day that I picked up my notebook and decided to "let God have his way" with my writing... I wrote something so awesome and deep hearted that my daughter and I both were in sobbing tears when I read it to her. It had emotion... love... life... rememberance... and most of all... it honored God. **And that was just the very beginning!**

This... is what my writing is meant for. I still enjoy reading others blogs... and I will enjoy blogging once in a while. I have been told that... "Jesus pushes my pen." It's hard to let him in on things when there is no pen involved! You might think that is a really old fashioned way to be. To tell you the truth... I think better with ink on paper. There is nothing like the feel of a smooth writing pen against a pad of paper. It is almost like you are truly putting yourself to something... rather than letting Hewlett-Packard help you out. My letters... my lines... my hand moves the pen around to let the thoughts pour out. God truly opens my soul in a different way when I sit with a blank page in front of me.

I will stop by again... I enjoy blogging and won't just give it up completely. But... I will completely let Jesus push my pen more often!! It just feels better!

God Bless you all! I will continue to keep up on things at your blogs!

**Oh how I wish I could tell you about what I wrote! You might have to wait until it is published! You want soft or hard cover?**

Amen! Amen!

It's Time...

It's time.
To set aside the keyboard. To pick up my five-star notebook that has been anxiously waiting for me to open it's blank pages. To spill my heart out... filling up the whiteness with chicken scratches... arrows... new paragraphs... and memories that have been locked away. They have churned enough... become clearer than ever... and new life has been breathed into them.
It is time.
My fingers yearn to hold a pen. To leave my mark...
On the unwritten pages of my heart.
Thank you Jesus... for my dream.
Thank you for "pushing my pen".

The Interviewer....

Newly discovered!

A new desire of Suzii's heart has been revealed! She has only uncovered this just minutes ago! When interviewed, she stated,

"It gives me butterflies in my tummy... I am so excited! It will be an opportunity to take my God-given talent to new levels. I will be able to provide a more stable homelife for my family as well as feeling accomplished!" Suzii smiles from ear to ear and she is shaking with visible excitement as she anticipates the interviewer's next question.

"Suzii, what is it? What is the new desire of your heart?"

Suzii sits forward on the edge of her seat. Her mind is whirring a gozillian miles and hour. Her eyes are bright and shiny. Her face has a warm, yet vibrant glow radiating from it. She clasps her hands in front of her heart and after a short, pondering silence, she says...

"I want to get a degree from the Art Institute of Seattle in Multimedia and Web Design! I would like to work for a Christian ministry... ((*thinking to self ?maybe Jesse Duplantis? Sheesh I love his ministry!*))... and help them with their web design & 'stuff'! I am not yet sure how I will be able to do this. I know that I have alot of natural creativity that will be an asset to me."

As the interviewer hears that response... He places his hands upon hers... that are still clasped at her heart... and says...

"May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests." (Psalm 20:3-5)

A Boy and His Dog...

Through all of the news I have heard about the devastation of hurricane Katrina... I have prayed. Really, right now, that is all I CAN do.

Having pets of my own... Sterling (our doxie mix)... Kitty (our kitty)... Sookie and Phillip (our birds)... and four tanks of tropical fish... I have wondered about the beloved pets of the victims of Katrina. I haven't heard much about them.

Today however, I heard a news story about a little boy who was being transported from New Orleans to Houston. He had a pet dog with him. As he got on the bus... a police officer took his dog from him. People are rallying to find that dog... and that boy... to reunite them.

HOW RUDE WAS THAT? THE BOY LOSES HIS HOME, HIS SCHOOL, HIS CLOTHES, HIS FOOD, HIS WAY OF LIFE..............AND THEY TOOK THE ONLY THING HE MAY HAVE HAD LEFT! HIS DOG!

That made me mad. I think if someone were to try and tell me that I could not take my pet on a bus... I would have smacked them! Those pets have been through a very traumatic time. I could not imagine Sterling without us. He is a part of our family. We have even called him "the son we never had". I pray that boy and his dog are brought back together again. Give that boy something to love... that loves him back.

I know this may seem like something silly to post about... but hey... HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE YOUR PET?

"Sterling"...sitting on the couch like a big boy dog!

I am a Child of God...

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:1-3

I read Shelley's post from Saturday, Sept. 3rd, 2005. She got me thinking about alot of things. I have always felt so childish when it comes to... as she puts it..."head knowledge" about God things. She has been longing for more "heart knowledge". I feel as though I am not "book learned" about the bible and Christianity. As a matter of fact... I KNOW I am not! What I know... comes from my heart. I used to be kind of ashamed by this... not knowing more. Shelley's post got me thinking hardcore! I went straight for my bible. I found the above verse... and I was no longer ashamed of not having "book smarts" about my walk with Jesus.

I tend to think of Jesus as my friend. When I talk to him in prayer, I talk to him like I would my best friend sitting next to me on a park bench. I guess I thought that everyone was like this. It is always interesting to me to hear about what other Christians are going through. I feel more connected to them when they open their hearts. I can analyze my thoughts and feelings and compare my own walk with the Lord, to how they think and feel. Sometimes I find out that I need to change some things about myself... and other times I feel like I am right on track. My hope is to always be open to share with others... to share the love that I have for Jesus... to share the love that God has for us. To share, and compare, and learn, and grow... that is how we are supposed to be with one another. I am so thankful for those who feel comfortable enough to share their thoughts and feelings about what it means to them to be a child of God.

Joe made a comment on my blog once asking if I had ever thought of being a theologian... like I told Shelley... I had to go and look up what that was! I learn so much from all of you!

If someone were to ask me... "So, What do you know for sure?" I know that my answer would be... "Jesus loves me... this I know... for the Bible tells me so."

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16

**Jesus... I ask you to wrap your arms around Cookie Henderson tonight. Bring her comfort from the loss of her husband. Take her husband by the hand and show him all around heaven tonight. He is free from suffering from that nasty cancer. Introduce him to my Mama... so they can be friends. (My Mama would have loved to know Cookie had she had the opportunity.) Bring peace to Cookie's family tonight as well. In Your name... Amen.

.......Thoughts

I was sitting here trying to think of something really interesting... or meaningful to post. There is alot going on inside my brain. Nothing seems to go much further than the back of my eyeballs today.

Lord, help me find the energy that a 36 year old should have. Help me find the energy to be the housekeeper that I once was. Help me find the caring qualities that I used to have to make sure I kept myself in shape. Help me to let others see you in my actions. Help me to be the mother to my daughter that mine was to me. Help me to purify my own self each and every day with your Word. Come and find me, Lord... when I stray too far from you. Jesus, stop by once in a while and take me out for a walk... just to talk. Take my husband into Your arms... and show him how much You love him... just because You want to. Let my daughter know that You will always be there for her... when she is on her own one day... she can call out Your name and You will hold her tight to You. Wrap Your arms around my friends... show them Your mercy and grace in all they do... bring to them the best of Your blessings. Just love us... Jesus. My heart desires to see the sweetness of Your face one day. What a day that will be! No worries, no pain, no troubles, no sadness, no sickness... only pure life! I yearn to walk the streets of heaven... to meet along the banks of the river of life... those loved ones for whom I have mourned. Be with me Jesus... each and every day. Comfort my heart... restore my mind... and keep my soul burning with Your light. I love you Jesus... Amen.

I live each day the best I can. I thank God for every tiny little thing that I have. I would like to write the book that is in my heart to write... or should I say... finish it. God sees us at the core of who we are... and He still loves us anyway. He is the reason and purpose I exist in this world... and He has entrusted me with a family to care for... and with a heart to share with others how much He loves everyone. (This is a note to self... "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~1 Corinthians 13~
